Beach Bat

Beach Bat

What would a week spent on a private beach be without a beach bat? For a game with others, a tennis ball or a rubber "pinky" ball is preferred. It does take a little more room than whiffle ball but the game can be played in the wind and on New England beaches there is wind.

If you look closely at the barrel of the bat, you will see it is dented and dinged from hitting rocks. You toss the rock in the air and then swing through and hit it. A wonderful and meaningless exercise played by one or two. A single in the water, a double beyond the break and a homer way out there. Good hands and picking properly weighted rocks are key.
